So here's an interesting one.  I go to check the oil in the Jag the other day.  For the life of me, I cannot locate the dipstick.  I see where the cartridge filter goes (similar location to the Pentastar) and where the oil filler is located.

I break out the manual.  No dipstick.  All done on the instrument cluster.  There is no way to check it physically.  Anyone else have a vehicle with no way to manually check oil level?

It's to make sure you pay for extra visits to the dealership for service

So a low oil indicator will be displayed on the dash if need be?

Call me old school, but I like the pop the hood manual version.

What's the service interval?

I feel the same way.  How hard is it to have a dipstick?

There is a dash indicator that will come up when the system needs 0.5 quarts of oil or more.  The service interval is - wait for it - 15,000 miles.

I hate relying on electronic devices. They can and WILL fail at some point

15k is what my Ram calls for according to the manual and indicator on the dash. I usually change it between 6 and 7.5k.

So, I realized today that I've only taken 1 vacation day so far this year.  Who would be interested in taking a mid-week trip to Bald Eagle and/or Pine Creek in June or July?

Dirtying your hands is for the poors. That's not part of the Jaguar ownership experience.
