K&N Air Filter Cleaning - How To?

Flame away for not searching..but, any suggestions as to how to clean it?  Several links below, but I don't have the cleaner or oil? necessary? Or just rinse it out and let fry?

I bought the cleaning kit. I think it might have been 10 or 15 dollars at the auto store. Spray on the cleaner, hose it off, spray on the oil. Pretty easy.

Squirt of dish soap in a bucket of warm water

Rinse

WD-40

Profit!

This just came out of mine. Went w the bump approach. Most of it already down the drain.

Waiting to dry then wd 40.

I've done the kit, and I've done the Bump way too.

The most important thing is to NOT SOAK the filter with oil. It only needs a very very light misting on a DRY filter to perform well.

Too much oil and it can foul the MAF, not to mention inhibit suction.

And if you are running a snorkel be prepared to clean it more than the recommended intervals, especially if you don't have a prefilter. That thing gets nasty as fuck
